DISCONNECT TO CONNECT

Slide1.jpg

So, I took a rest from social media for the past couple of weeks.  I went on vacation with my computer and every intention of writing and posting, but decided it was time to unplug instead.  I spent 10 days reading a novel.  It's been a long time since I have read for entertainment.  I spend a lot of time reading for research purposes.  I am an avid reader, and I had forgotten how much I loved getting lost in a story.  Holding that book in my hands gave me so much pleasure, and turning each page made happy.  I spent every day in the ocean snorkeling and swimming.  That is my "happy place".  Spending time in stillness with the sea creatures never gets old.  The beauty of the underwater world is beyond compare.  Getting in touch with the things I love made a tremendous difference in me.  When I got on the plane to go on vacation I was exhausted and had a heavy mind.  But, I returned home lighter and  stronger, ready to continue with my purpose.  Disconnecting was exactly what I needed!  Going back to the things I love worked like magic.  Letting go of so many self-imposed expectations allowed me to recharge and jump-start a life that was feeling a little heavy.  That leads me to the reason I am writing this.  My thought is that feeling like this is not only happening to me.  This attachment to social media in all its forms and all it encompasses can be daunting to say the least.  Take a break!  Spend a few days going back to the things you did before all of this electronic pressure came about.  Just do it for a few days.  Feel the relief and release that comes with it and nurture yourself with those things that give you joy.  Pick up the phone and call and talk to a friend, don't text them, hear their voice.  Connect with nature.  Take your shoes off and ground yourself.  Feel the texture of the grass, dirt or sand under your feet.  Lay a blanket down and have a picnic with a friend, or spend time on your own nurturing yourself.  Enjoy your own company.  The bottom line is get back to a real life.  Spend time enjoying instead of posting.  Connect in real time and space.  You don't have to go on vacation to do this.  The week end is almost here.  Try it.

PS.  Feel free to let me know how it went.

LET THAT BE WHAT GUIDES YOU

Slide1.jpg

Put your mind where your heart is...And put you heart where your mind is...Let that be what guides you.

When we deliberately take our mind and place it in the center of our chest, at our heart, we give the mind permission to rest.  We allow it to feel safe, away from harm's way.  The only choice is to settle into the warmth and comfort of being loved.  The ego, judgement, and pride all fall by the wayside and are replaced with a feeling of peace, wholeness, and well being.  Once there, we proceed to put our hearts where our minds are and give the heart the freedom to fill the mind with expansion and bliss.  What unfolds is kindness and love, which is who we are.  We uncover our essence.  Follow the lead of that love and that kindness, and let it guide you in a way which allows harmony and contentment to be present within you.  Let that be what guides you.

THE IMPORTANCE OF LOVE IN HEALING

Slide1.jpg

In healing, it's important we spend time with those we want to spend time.  We need to spend time with those who are loving and kind to us.  Their love will help us heal.  We need to take the time to love them back. In giving lies the receiving.  Let's be very aware of that.  As important as it is for us to focus on ourselves, it's just as important to share love with others who may need it.
